Edward Brown is the Interim Executive Lead of the Population Health and Value-based Health Systems portfolio at Ontario Health. He leads a talented new team committed to enabling our health system’s transformation to deliver higher value, modern and equitable health care.
Prior to joining Ontario Health, Dr Brown was CEO and a founder of OTN, one of the largest and most active virtual care communities in the world.
Dr. Brown has won numerous awards for his work in virtual care, including most recently, a Governor General’s Meritorious Service Medal for his contributions to health care in Canada. In 2011 he was chosen as one of 25 Transformational Canadians by a national media panel sponsored by the Globe and Mail, CTV and La Presse. He is a Past President and Chair of the American Telemedicine Association, which named him to its College of Fellows in 2015.
An emergency physician who studied mathematics and engineering before embarking on his medical career, Dr. Brown is a passionate advocate for the transformation and modernization of our health care systems.
