August 3, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Event Navigation
Early during the COVID-19 pandemic, researchers at the University of Minnesota’s Medical School and Earl E. Bakken Medical Devices Center recognized the need for more ventilators in the healthcare system. To ease this strain, they designed a lighter, easy to use alternative to the ventilator, the Coventor. Industry partners quickly got onboard.
The leaders of the Coventor team from the Earl E. Bakken Medical Devices Center, Boston Scientific, Medtronic, and UnitedHealth Group join MILI Academic Director, Prof. Pinar Karaca-Mandic, to tell the story of the Coventor’s development, discuss key factors to its success, examine implications moving forward, and reflect on the lessons learned.
