Stanford University 4th Annual Spinal Muscular Atrophy Conference: Clinical Complexities and Gaps of Care in the Genetic Treatment Era – Lessons Learned Treating SMA

September 21, 2022 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Continuing medical education and training in this era of disease-modifying treatments for the evolving SMA phenotype requires thoughtfulness for the most optimal outcomes.  With the implementation of the most current newborn screening guidelines, clinicians managing individuals with SMA require up-to-date knowledge on the treatment landscape, long-term outcomes, and clinical-decision making.  We intend to continue to enhance the knowledge and understanding of healthcare providers including physicians, specialists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, nurses, and providers not affiliated with specialized centers, in the clinical decision-making and medical and rehabilitative management of individuals with SMA.
