With over 15 years’ experience as a practicing physiotherapist, Josh Williams understands the gaps across the health care system that leads to poor experiences for patients and providers, less than optimal outcomes and unsustainable expenditures. He also understands the passion and pride that the workforce brings to their roles, the amazing innovation that happens in pockets of the system and the untapped potential that has yet to be realized through digital transformation. It was this experience and these insights that led him to the Master of Business Administration program at the Rotman School of Management and also transition away from clinical practice to a role with the Ontario Ministry of Health as the Lead, Planning, Evaluation and Results in the Digital Health Division. In this role, Josh supports the implementation of the province’s Digital First for Health strategy. Josh has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Western Ontario, a Master of Science, Physical Therapy degree from the University of Toronto and is also a Lecturer in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto.
