The Business School Alliance for Health Management hosted a Career Forum for MBA students across its 21-member global network to explore professional pathways in healthcare. Facilitated by Rosemary Hannam, director of the Sandra Rotman Centre for Health Sector Strategy at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management, the event on November 20, 2024 featured panelists who highlighted career options in different industry sectors, along with advice on career growth, problem-solving, and the importance of networking and mentorship. They emphasized the value of global experience, cross-sector collaboration, and the adaptability and resilience needed to thrive in the industry.
The panelists included:
- Susan Alpert, who shared lessons from her career journey in microbiology and regulatory sciences.
- Prashant Arora, who highlighted key trends in healthcare consulting.
- Zachary Fond, who discussed private equity investments in emerging markets, focusing on healthcare in Africa.
- Julie Kemp, who shared insights from Minnesota’s thriving Medical Alley.
- Drew Weil, who reflected on the global nature of healthcare challenges.
The 90-minute session concluded with breakout rooms, enabling deeper discussions and networking opportunities.
