A study looking at the link between hospital performance and managerial education found that hospitals which are closer to universities that offer both medical education and business education exhibit higher management quality, more MBA trained managers, and lower mortality rates. The study was conducted by Nicholas Bloom, Stanford University, Raffaella Sadun, Harvard University, Renata Lemos, World Bank, and John Van Reenen, MIT.
