Afsane Jetha, is the Managing Partner and CEO of Alta Semper Capital, one of the most active impact investors in the healthcare sector across the African continent. Afsane has been investing in the healthcare, consumer and technology sectors across developing and developed markets for nearly twenty years. During her career, she has invested in market-leading businesses in Egypt, Nigeria, Morocco, Ethiopia, Ghana, Uganda and Cote D’Ivoire, as well as several more developed markets and regions. Prior to founding Alta Semper Capital in 2015 alongside Ronald Lauder (the Chairman of Clinique) and Richard Parsons (the former CEO of Time Warner and current Chairman of the Rockefeller Foundation), she served as the Managing Director of Duet Group’s Africa Private Equity platform, investing in healthcare, consumer and real estate companies across Africa. Earlier in her career, she was an investment professional with GI Partners, where she sat on the boards of the firm’s two largest European healthcare buy-and-build portfolio companies. Afsane has also worked for Permira in London and Wasserstein PE and Merrill Lynch in New York. She has a BSc in Finance, Healthcare & Legal Studies from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She continues to have extensive professional and personal ties to East Africa.
